SC’IȺNEW Canoe Family has arrived home safely and with gratitude from this year’s Tribal Journey to Lower Elwha Washington.

July 30th, 2025, was our day to be a host along the Journey to Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe SC’IȺNEW Welcomed many Canoe Families to our homelands, landing at East Sooke Park then moving to our Long House to gather for a meal and celebration where we shared Stories, Songs and Dances.
Leading up to this amazing day the SC’IȺNEW Canoe Family Committee put in lots of time learning, planning, and completing tasks.
In addition to our hard work, it is important to us to take a moment to recognize and thank many people for their assistance along the way in ways like Volunteering, Private Donors, Supporters and Sponsors from Local Businesses including but not limited to groups like, Capital Regional District, Victoria Foundation, Habitat Acquisition Trust, L.A. Limousines & Transportation Services, Victoria, BC, Kotug, WCMRC, Cheanuh Marina, Quality Aluminum Railings, Flameless Roofing Solutions Ltd., Fast Eddy Trucking, East Sooke Grocer, Sooke School District, Keycorp, Metchosin Fire Department Sooke Rcmp, Department of National Defense, Geo Services.
