SC’IȺNEW̱ Nation is proud to announce the launch of a new Community Member Achievements Showcase to highlight the successes of our many talented members. SC’IȺNEW̱ is now accepting nominations – including self-nominations – for inclusion in the Showcase. More information about the simple application process is available below.
The members of SC’IȺNEW̱ are talented, creative, and always growing. From strong athletes and imaginative artists to impressive scholars and cultivators of traditional language and cultural knowledge, this community is uniquely rich in experience, achievement, and innovation.
That’s why SC’IȺNEW̱ is launching its new Community Member Achievements Showcase. Through this initiative, SC’IȺNEW̱ will highlight a series of individual members to highlight achievements related to personal growth, career, education, art, sports, and more. SC’IȺNEW̱ will share the stories of the showcased individuals on the SC’IȺNEW̱ website and social media platforms!.
How to Participate
Ready to showcase an important win in the community? Members are encouraged to self-nominate or to nominate another member by submitting an achievement to SC’IȺNEW̱ through email or a text.
To submit through email, send contact information and a brief, one-sentence description of the achievement to: scianew@remarkablecommunications.com.
No achievement is too big or too small to share! In fact, even sharing a small achievement can brighten someone’s day or inspire other community members. Examples of successes SC’IȺNEW̱ is looking to showcase include:
– a success in Klallam or SENĆOŦEN class;
– acceptance to university or a good grade in school;
– leadership in community building or cultural revitalization;
– cultivation of a new skill;
– a cooking triumph;
– a new craft or other art piece;
– a unique or hidden talent;
– exceptional family care; or
– a soccer, paddling, or other athletic win.
Nominations are accepted for community members of all ages on an ongoing basis. SC’IȺNEW̱ will follow up with chosen participants to collect further information, either through email, text, or a Zoom meeting. Then, SC’IȺNEW̱ will showcase the achievement on the SC’IȺNEW̱ website and SC’IȺNEW̱ social media platforms using text, graphics, and/or video content.

This initiative is part of SC’IȺNEW̱’s ongoing work to build and strengthen the community, encourage community pride, and help all our members achieve happy and healthy lifestyles.
